Suicide Substance Abuse Violence Education 
SSAVE is a Valley coalition aimed at preventing suicide. Professionals and teens from area youth coalitions make up the dynamic group. Groups members have received Yellow Ribbon and Assist training. Its newsletter--SSAVE--News--is now online. The next issue will highlight US--Understanding Suicide--the Monte Vista High School coalition. Mission Statement:
To work towards improving the quality of life for people of the San Luis Valley by providing community based support in suicide, substance abuse, and violence prevention.

Membership is composed of students and adults from
- Alamosa High School SEADS (Students Educating Against Drugs and Suicide)
- Monte Vista High School US (Understanding Suicide)
- Centennial High School SLYCE (San Luis Youth Community Educators)
- Centauri High School students will be joining the SSAVE coalition in the fall
- Sierra Grande High School students have committed to the coalition as well
