Lynne Gaunt volunteered as a mentor when she noticed the need highlighted in her church bulletin. "I have time to spend with someone who needs a caring adult to pay attention to her. I think I can be a stable positive, encouraging influence." -- And Marissa's mom (Michelle Moreno) can vouch for that! |

“I personally thought about being a mentor because as a student in high school, I needed one. I thought to myself, if I could touch or influence one person, it would be worth it. My uncle who I lived with was my mentor but he could not always provide the guidance I needed. As a mentor in Alamosa, I’ve learned as much from my mentee as I hope he has learned from me. Mentoring is satisfying and as rewarding as seeing your own children accomplish their goals.." |
