Sí Se Puede Mentoring Activities
Athletic Experiences
Sí Se Puede activities have drawn youth from across Conejos county this last month. The March monthly activity took 30 youth, mentors and prevention specialists to Monarch Ski Slopes for an all day adventure. Sí Se Puede joined with Mi Animo Prevention from Alamosa and learned how to turn, jump and stop on skis and snow-boards. A lot of students in the Sí Se Puede enjoyed their very first time on the slopes. Darryel Poole is our pro! He handled the slopes like an Olympic star. Aaron Abeyta, mentor, and Jeremy Quintana conquered tumbles all day long. Our leader, Anna Lee Vargas laughed with Briana Romero, Terra DeGolyer, and Darius Martinez before everyone received their lift tickets. Anthony and Alejandro Quintana also mastered the turns and dips of the Monarch slopes. |
